Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan is the undisputed shehanshah of Bollywood but there was a time when Amitabh Bachchan faced lots of financial problems and went bankrupt. He established his production and distribution company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) in 1995 but soon it met with many financial problems because of producing and distributing movies that didn’t make money along with hosting the Miss World competition which was a loss-making event. Amitabh Bachchan then went in to work in television with Kaun Banega Crorepati and did Mohabbatien solely for money and after these ventures became a success, he was able to pay off his debts.

Shahrukh Khan
It was the year 2011 when Shahrukh Khan starred in and produced the superhero movie Ra.One with a budget of 125 crores, an unheard amount at that time but the movie tanked at the box office and Shahrukh Khan lost lots of money. It’s only after the success of Don2 and Jab Tak Hain Jaan that he was able to bounce back
Priety Zinta
Priety Zinta was one of the top actresses of the late 90s and early 2000s but post 2006, her movies started becoming flops and the arrival of new faces like Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone made the situation worse. She produced a rom-com Ishq in Paris which flopped badly causing lots of financial loss for Preity Zinta. Then her close friend and co-star Salman Khan came to her rescue and got her out of the situation.
Raj Kapoor
Raj Kapoor was known as the Showman of Bollywood because of the successful movies he produced and directed like Barsat, Shri 420, Sangam etc. Then he directed and produced his dream project Mera Naam Joker and despite getting good reviews it failed at the box office. Raj Kapoor lost lots of money in this project as he mortgaged all his assets and studio for the film. He then directed a teenage love story Bobby only to make money and it became a superhit and saved Raj Kapoor to go absolutely bankrupt.
Govinda
Govinda was one of the biggest stars of the 90s who gave many hits but post-2000 he got very less movies to act and slowly movie offers stopped completely and he was out of work for 2-3 years. His finances got affected a lot because of it and it’s only after Salman Khan’s Partner that he managed to bounce back.
Jackie Shroff
Jackie Shroff was one of the well-known actors of 80s and 90s and was doing well for himself financially but things started to change from the beginning of the 2000s. He and his wife Ayesha Shroff started their own production house and made their first Boom starring Amitabh Bachchan, Gulshan Grover and himself in the lead roles. It was the first movie of Katrina Kaif but the movie was a disaster and it got Jackie Shroff into lots of debt and it was only after the help of Salman Khan that he managed to make things normal again.
