Rahul Dev: One of Very Few Models Who Made it Big in the Movie Industry
Rahel Dev was born on27 September 5, 1968, and is an ex-model and actor who work in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam language films. Well-known actor Mukul Dev is also an actor who featured in movies like Dastak, Sons of Sardar, R. Rajkumar, etc. Their father was an Assistant Commissioner of Police who died at the age of 91 on 22, April 2022. Their mother was a teacher and her name was Anup Kaushal. Rahul Dev was married to Rina who died because of cancer on 16 May 2016 and they have a son named Sidhart. Since Rahul never remarried and brought up his son as a single father. He dating well-known model turned actress Mugdha Gode who appeared in movies like Fashion. All The Best etc.

Rahel Dev was a famous model before he debuted as an actor with the Sunny Deol starrer movie Champion which earned him a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Villain in 2000. Bur Champion was not the first movie where he faced the camera as an actor for the first time. Before that, he worked in a movie called Dus starring big names like Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Raveena Tondon and directed by famous director Mukul S Anand who earlier made movies like Agneepath, Hum, Trimurti etc. Unfortunately, the movie was shelved as the sudden death of director Mukul S Anand. The movie was shelved and Rahul Dev Had to wait for another two tears to make his movie debut.
Next year he had three more releases, Aashiq with Bobby Deol, Indian with Sunny (where he had an extended cameo), and the period Drama Asoka with Shahrukh Khan. Though Aashiq and Asoka had underwhelming performances, Rahul Dev was appreciated for his acting, especially in Asoka where he played a positive character for the first time as he played the villain in the movie Aashiq. Sunny Deol starrer Indian was a big hit and Dev had a positive character here also.
In the same year, he made his Tamil and Telegu debut with Narasimha and Akasa Veedhiol respectively. In 2003, he appeared in many movies like Takkari Donga (Telegu), ChaloIshq Ladaaye, 23 March 1931: Shaheed, Awara Paagal Deewana,Kyon?,Supari in Hind. Afterward, he did many movies in various languages. He is one of the very few Models who made it big in the movie line and sustained for so long period.
Rahul Dev lived a very controversy-free life except for one time when in 2009, his fellow gym member ShoaibQureshi had a fight and a complaint was registered against him. After the death of his wife in 2016, he went into depression and didn’t sign any movie except the one she was already shooting for. Apart from movies he was active in various social causes and appeared in an advertisement released by PETA showcasing the bad conditions and practices of, Indian zoos. Rahul came forward for the ad, in which he appeared in spotted body paint to look like a cheetah. According to him, zoos are “nothing more than animal prisons maintained for human amusement.” He added, “If you love animals, let them live with their families in the wild, where they belong. Protecting species from extinction sounds like a noble goal, but zoo officials usually favour exotic or popular animals who draw crowds and publicity, neglecting less popular species. Most animals housed in zoos are not endangered, nor are they being prepared for release into natural habitats. The best thing to do to stop this cruelty is to urge your friends and family to boycott zoos.”
Rahul Dev debuted on TV in 2005 where he hosted the show Games Bond. He also took part in season 3 of Khatro Ke Khiladi in 2010. He also acted in the famous mythological show Devon ke Dev… Mahadev is a demon named Arunasur who got a boon from Lord Brahma that he can’t be killed by any two- or four-legged creatures. Arunasura was killed by Goddess Parvati in the form of Bhramari Devi. He made his OTT debut with The Test Case in 2017 with Nimrat Kaur. He acted in a few more web series like Who is Your Daddy?, Poisson 2, and LSD: Love, Scandal, and Doctors.
