The trailer of Aamir Khan’s upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha was released during the IPL 2022 final match and it’s getting mixed reactions from the people. Some liked the trailer and some calling it sasta remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The makers of the upcoming Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha released the trailer on Sunday. Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of Tom Hank’s 1994 Oscar winning movie Forrest Gump and the trailer is getting mixed reactions on social media. It is criticized mainly for being an exact copy of the Hollywood movie and many felt that Aamir Khan’s acting seems same like his act in Dhoom 3 and PK. Only after hours of trailer being released, the hash tag Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha started trending on Twitter.
One of the reasons of the trend is a two years old video of Kareena Kapoor being surfaced online. In the video Kareena Kapoor says, “The audience has made us; no one else has made us. The same people pointing fingers are the ones who have made these nepotistic stars, right? Are not you going to the hall to watch the film, right? Do not go then! Nobody has forced you! I find this whole discussion is completely weird.” This statement of Kareena Kapoor didn’t go well with many and Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha started getting trending on Twitter. But this interview is two years old and she was replying to interviewer Barkha Dutt’s question when she asked Kareena Kapoor about the whole nepotism debate that’s going around everywhere and it had nothing to do with Laal Singh Chaddha.
Apart from this, people are targeting Aamir Khan also for one of his earlier statements where he said India has become intolerant and he is worried about the future of his wife and children. They are sharing various clips from Aamir Khan’s movie PK in which he is supposedly mocking Hindu Gods and making fun of their religious sentiments. From the trailer getting mixed reviews and now this trend of Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha has made the road tough ahead for the movie. Laal Singh Chaddha is produced by Aamir Khan himself and directed by Advait Chandan who earlier directed Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar also. The movie is scheduled to hit the box office on August 11, 2022. Apart from Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film will also star Telegu actor Naga Chaitanya in his Bollywood debut and Mona Singh of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi.
