The last two years had not been good for Bollywood as most of the movies even with big stars failed at the box office. But 2023 seems to be changing the tide for Bollywood as the year started with the blockbuster movie Pathaan starring Shahrukh Khan which became the biggest earner of Bollywood ever. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar also did good business at the box office. Here are four upcoming movies from Bollywood that may set the box office on fire.
- War 2
Yashraj Films recently announced War 2, a sequel to their 2019 blockbuster War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. War series is part of YRF’s Spy Universe which contains movies including Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hain, War, and Pathaan. Hrithik Roshan will reprise his role as the secret agent Kabir and this time Ayan Mukerji of Brahmastra fame is directing the movie. It’s reported that southern superstar Jr. NTR who recently featured in the globally hit movie RRR will play the main antagonist in the movie, making War 2 one of the most awaited upcoming Bollywood movies. The shooting of the movie will start in early 2024.
- The Shaktimaan Trilogy
Shaktimaan probably is the most famous Indian superhero which came as a TV serial in the 90s where Mukesh Khanna played the role of Shaktimaan and it became an instant hit, especially among children. Last year Mukesh Khanna who is also the producer of the TV series announced the movie adaptation of the famous superhero series as a movie trilogy in partnership with Sony Pictures. A small teaser also came which left the audience excited. The search for the actor who will play Shaktimaan is still going on with Ranveer Singh leading the race for it. It’s for sure whenever the movie will release, it will set the box office on fire.
- Krrish 4
If after Shaktimaan, any other superhero comes closer to it in terms of popularity then it’s Krrish played by Hrithik Roshan. The first Krrish movie came in the year 2007 and the second part Krrish 3 (Koi Mil Gaya is considered the first part of the franchise, hence Krrish 3) came in the year 2013 and both of them were blockbusters. Now after waiting for almost ten years, the makers announced that the making of Krrish 4 is going on and right now it is in the scripting process. This announcement has left everyone excited and hence this movie made it to our list of five upcoming movies that may set the box office on fire.
- Spirit
Spirit starring Pan India superstar Prabhas will be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who earlier directed the superhit Kabir Singh and upcoming Ranbir Kapoor starrer gangster drama Animal. The movie will be made in both Hindi and Telugu and will be a Pan-Indian release. It’s reportedly an action thriller movie where Prabhas will be playing the role of a cop for the first time in his career. Kareena Kapoor Khan is approached to play the female lead but she is yet to sign the movie. The shooting of the movie will start after both Prabhas and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga finish their current projects and the movie will probably release in late 2024.
