During the corona epidemic and the lockdowns which followed them people all over the world, especially in India got introduced to OTT platforms and webseries. Web Series of Sacred Games, Mirzapur, Tripling, Permanent Roommates,Kota Factory etc and today even the big budget movies are released directly on OTT. Only in the first two months OTTs gave us an awesome web series like Farzi.. Here we have made a list of four more upcoming web series people are waiting with bated breath.
- Mirzapur Season 3
The first two seasons of Mirzapur became massive hits. It stars great actors such as Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Faizal, Kulbhushan Kharbanda,Ali Faizal, Divyendu Sharma. Vikrant Messy etc Divyendu Sharma as Munna Bhaiya stole the show along with Pankaj Tripathi as Kalin Bhaiya. In the second the character of Munna Bhaiya was killed by Guddu Pandit (played brilliantly by Ali Faizal). Without Munna Bhaiyya the Mirzapur series may become lackluster but there are many theories running around that Munna Bhaiyya will be alive making it one of the most anticipated web series of this year.
- The Family Man Season 3
“Lonavala main kya hua tha?” is one of the best kept secrets of any web series on any OTT platform. Starring brilliant actors like Manoj Bajpai, Priya Mani, Sharad Kelkar, Sharib Hashmi and Shreya Dhanwanthary is definitely a web series people are waiting with bated breath. In the series Manoj Bajpai and Sharib Hashmi played secret agents named Srikant Tiwari and J.K respectively. The first two seasons dealt with Pakistani and LTTE terrorist organizations and in the third season i Tiwari and J.K will deal with Chinese terror groups as the last episode of the season 2 ended with a cliffhanger where they showed a Chinese secret agent in Kolkata conspiring against india and how Tiwari and J.K will deal with them is making the third season of one of the awaited web series of 2023.
- Bambai Meri Jaan
Bambai Meri Jaan is based on a best seller book: Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia written by Hussain S Zaidi who earlier wrote famous books including Black Friday,Mafia Queens of Mumbai,Mumbai Avengers on which movies were made, the most recently being the Sanjay Leela Bhanshali’s superhit movie Gangubai Kathiyawadi starring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in a cameo.Bambai Meri Jaan will show how underworld flourished in India.Starting from Haji Mastan, Karim Lala to the rise of India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim. Avinash Tiwary of Laila-Majnu and Bullbul fame is playing Dawood Ibrahim and Kay Kay Menon is playing a cop. The series also features Amrya Dastoor,Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhhatacharya and Jitin Gulati in important roles.This web series is directed by Shujaat Saudaga and produced by Excel Entertainment of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
- Asur 2
Asurs part 1 became a sleeper hit web series that featured Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Sharib Hashmi, and Amey Wagh. It was a murder mystery thriller whose story revolves around a serial killer. Brilliantly directed by Oni Sen and created by Gaurav Shukla Vibhav Shikdar the first season received an IMDb rating of 8.5/10. A fusion of mythology and crime drama, Asur 2 is one of the most awaited web series of 2023.
