Mouni Roy Nambiar known as Moini Roy was born on 28 September 1985 at Cooch Behar. His father’s name was Anil Roy who passed away on June 9, 2013, and her mother’s name is Mukti Roy She partially belongs to an acting family as her mother was a theater artist and her maternal grandfather was a well-known theater artist in Kolkata. Her younger brother named Mukhar Roy well-known theatre artist.
She completed her school at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Baburhat, Cooch Behar, and then went to Delhi and studies mass communication at Jamia Milia Islamia at her parents’ persistence, but left the course halfway and went to Mumbai to work in the Bollywood film industry

She made her first movie appearance in a special appearance song in the Punjabi movie in 2004 and in 2011 she played the main role as Sahiba in the Punjabi movie Heron Hitler in Love. She focused mostly on television and at present, she is one of the highest-paid Hindi television actresses. Though she acted in many serials, her role as a shape-shifting snake in the supernatural thriller serial Naagin on Colors TV produced by Ekta Kapoor made her so popular. She got married to her long-term boyfriend Suraj Nambiar, a Dubai-based businessman. Both got married in traditional Malayalam and Bengali ceremonies in Panaji, Goa on 27 January 2022.

She further acted in movies like Romeo Akbar Walter, Made in China, Velle. Her next movie is Ayun Mukreji’s most anticipated movie Brahmhastra where is the antagonist. The movie also features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Nagarjuna.
