- Sacred Games
Sacred Games, is one of the best and most famous Indian action web series, and it’s based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same name. Phantom Films created and directed India’s first Netflix original series, which was produced and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. Varun Grover, Smita Singh, and Vasant Nath adapted the novel into a series with their writing. Kelly Luegenbiehl, Erik Barmack, and Motwane co-produced the series. The story follows two main characters Sartaj Singh played by Saif Ali Khan and Ganesh Gaitonde played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. One night Sartaj Singh who is a troubled Mumbai cop receives a phone call from criminal Ganesh Gaitonde telling him he has 25 days to save the city; the series follows the events that follow afterward.
- Mirzapur
Mirzapur is one of the most famous web series in India and it’s produced by Excel Entertainments. It has Pankaj Tripathi, Divyendu Sharma, Ali Faizal, and Vikrant Messy in the main roles. It had two seasons till now and both of them were very successful. It is available on Amazon Prime for streaming. The first season of the series was directed by Anshuman, Gurmeet Singh, and Mihit Desai, who also directed the second season. The story is set during the reign of Akhandanand Tripathi, a mafia don and proverbial ruler of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, and the fight for power among the main characters.
- The Family Man
Created by Raj and DK, The Family Man is an espionage thriller web series available on Amazon Prime. It stars Manoj Bajpai as an intelligence agency officer who along with his colleague and friend JK played by Sharib Ansari saves the country from many terrorist threats. Along with these two Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, Neeraj Madhav, Dalip Tahil, Sunny Hinduja, and Shreya Dhanwanthary also plays important characters in the series. South Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the main antagonist in the second season of the show.
- Bard of Blood
Bard of Blood is an espionage thriller produced by Shahrukh Khan’s production company Red Chilllies and stars Emraan Hashmi, Kirti Kulhari, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The series is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. It’s a seven-episode series and is available on Netflix for streaming. The story is about an ex-Indian intelligence officer Adonis played by Emraan Hashmi who is called back for a mission to save a group of Indian Intelligence Officers in Afghanistan.

Special Ops starring Kay Kay Menon is undoubtedly one of the best Indian action web series on OTT. Directed and produced by Neeraj Pandey, Special Ops follows the story of an Indian Intelligence officer Himmat Singh played by Kay Kay Menon who believes there was one more terrorist involved in the parliament attacks and assembles a team of five operatives to seek down the mastermind.
- Paatal Lok
Paatal Lok is an Indian thriller web series produced by Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma under her production house Clean Slate Filmz. and Sudip Sharma wrote the script alongside Sagar Haveli, Hardik Mehta, and Gunjit Chopra, and it was directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy. It features Jaideep Ahlawat, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles. It is available on Amazon Prime for viewing.
- Apharan
Apharan, a 2018 Indian Hindi-language action thriller web series, and Sidharth Sengupta directed and co-produced this series. It’s available on ALTBalaji and it has Arunoday Singh in the lead role in the series. The series features kidnappings, suspense, mystery, and nonstop action. Since its release, the series has been available for streaming on the ALT Balaji App MX Player. Its season 2 premiered on March 18, 2022.
