The web series Aashram featuring Bobby Deol in the main role of Nirmal Baba is one of the most watched and successful web series. It’s directed by PrakashJha who is known for making realistic movies like Gangajal, Apharan, Rajneeti, etc. Ashram is partially based on Ram Rahim, the head of DeraSachaSauda. Like most movies of PrakashJha, Aashram also addresses issues related to politics and society. Its first season started streaming on MX Player on 28 August 2020. After its success, two more seasons came on 11 November 2020, with the third season following in June 2022, respectively.
